Merry Christmas to you, too.
By the way, that book you mentioned a couple of blog entries back, the Last Ringbearer, I saw it in the bookshops here. Translated. A nice surprise.
Yep, it's a good book. I assume, however, that the translation is into Czech, not English. I wonder how many years it will be before an English release... :(
An official one, you mean?
When the last HP book was about to be published here, an unofficial translation (a pretty good one, too!) was already on the 'net. Perhaps something similar could be done here. Do you know anyone who's able to translate from Russian (it was Russian, right?) to English?
Well, yes, but there are two issues: 1) quality of translation 2) the authors, especially outside English-speaking world, are rarely rich, and I stealing books (i.e. publishing withouth paying royalties) is a much worse crime (IMHO) then p2p-ing books or movies.
Seriously, the question of wjy there are so few translations INTO English is something that perplexed me for a long time and I believe I have already blogged on this once or twice. I may do it again soon, as I recently talked to a person close to the publishing industry.
